So a while back, we had a lovely meal at Tomo Sushi, and Chef Steve told us we should come back and do an omakase menu on a Thursday, when he gets his fresh shipments from Japan. Yesterday afternoon, Justin suggested sushi for dinner, and so it was off to Tomo we went!
I like that the place is so small and comfortable. You can order fun rolls like the “Ex-girlfriend” and the “Who’s ur daddy?,” or you can have more nuanced meal with Chef Steve picking out his favorite dishes to try.
fluke :: pomegranate seeds :: hot mustard :: radish sprouts
Blue point oysters :: sriracha :: cilantro :: spinach :: soy
hamachi belly :: grapefruit :: serrano pepper :: radish
snapper :: salmon belly :: fresh wasabi :: aji :: white seaweed :: flamed flounder fin :: shiitake
mussels :: prawns :: squid :: cabbage :: shiitake :: broth
the leftovers 🙂
sea bass :: uni :: sea snail
cappuccino cake :: green tea ice cream
Needless to say, we had an AWESOME dinner. 🙂

D: You didn’t order “Who’s ur daddy?” I would have wanted to eat those so badly and make bad jokes and giggle hysterically at nothing all night.
Yes. Food gives me a high. So does being with my friends. Heeeheeeeeheeee 😀
That meal looks amazing. I do love Tomo but only visit once a year or so for a friends birthday. It’s her favorite restaurant. I have to ask, how much did the omakase run you per person?
looks amazing!
I was going to ask the same question as Jodi. Tomo is five minutes away from home, so I’d love to try this sometime.
One thing I discovered there was hamachi kama (grilled yellowtail collar), and it was delicious!
That is very good-looking sushi for sure. I’m looking at it and thinking, “I cannot decide what my favorite ‘neta’ is!”
See? I had to Google “neta.” 🙂
