Today I wanted to tell you that I made a juice for lunch, with kale, carrots, ginger, apple and strawberries, and it was wonderful. And then I made salmon with asparagus and chive butter for dinner, and then we had the rest of my homemade ice cream in cones for dessert (sweet corn and berry for me, coffee stout for Justin). And then we watched Another Year, which was very slow, but very wonderful, and it made me want to own a house with a lovely porch and backyard so that I could invite people over and feed them and house them when they need it the most. And then we took a walk around the neighborhood, and talked about trips to foreign lands and growing old together and how lovely it is to lie on a beach. And now I’m sitting here, telling you all about it.
I also wanted to say that a few days ago, I saw a woman walking her dog very early in the morning, and she had a rosary in one hand. And I thought, how lovely that must be, to walk quietly in the early morning hours and pray. And I thought maybe I could craft a necklace with my loved ones’ names written on each bead, and take early morning walks and take the time to pray for each person. And I have yet to craft this necklace, but I really want to do it.
And another morning, I saw a man walking two cats. He walked in front of them down the sidewalk, and occasionally would turn around and meow at them, and they would answer, and scuttle a bit faster to catch up with him. I thought that was cute.
So that’s what’s going on here. Hope you’re all doing well this week.
