Our new favorite takeout option is G’raj Mahal. Just order up some saag paneer, some paneer tikka masala, raita, and naan, and lay it all out with pink lemonade and red wine. What? You don’t eat Indian food with pink lemonade and red wine?

weekend breakfasts
I love breakfasts on the weekends. I’m always so rushed on weekdays… breakfast is usually a bowl of shredded wheat scarfed down while checking the weather. Weekends are a bit slower.
If I’m cooking, it’s something simple, like toast with butter and lemon-rosemary marmalade and hot cocoa.
If Justin’s cooking, you can bet there will be eggs, bacon, coffee, and tortillas.
I’m still not a big fan of breakfast for dinner… I’m not sure why. I guess it seems like the food’s a bit out of season… it’s supposed to be eaten at breakfast. You look forward to breakfast because that’s the only time you eat these things. Did I mention I like to follow the rules, even if they’re arbitrary?

cupcakes
Don’t they just make everything better? Especially tiny cupcakes. These are spice cake with cream cheese frosting.
I think I’ll have to get a Vanilla Dream from Hey Cupcake soon. 🙂

Drinks at Peche
We stopped at Peche for some drinks. It’s such a beautiful bar.
The bartenders are hard at work behind the absinthe fountains.
I ordered a rum old fashioned, and Justin ordered a Sazerac flip. We switched drinks. 🙂
Jake, one of the bartenders, made Justin a “Black Eye.” We’ll have to figure out what that was, because he really liked it.
Pommes frites with aioli were a nice bar snack.
Also, I want a chandelier. Yes, our ceilings are only 7 feet high, but surely I can fit one somewhere? 🙂
