A new camera! And my first movie!

So we bought a new camera. No, it’s not the Fuji Instax (though that’s probably next)… it’s this super-cute, teensy tiny digital Harinezumi 2. (Did I mention how much I love Photojojo?)

It shoots lovely vintagey, grainy video and lo-fi stills in color or black and white. You can shoot in the macro mode, and it makes everything all blurry-delicious.

A few stills:

We took it with us to dinner at Cipollina, and then I pored over iMovie instructions until I figured out how to edit it into one lovely little film. So here it is!  Please be kind, I’ve never used iMovie before! 🙂

  1. I love the video! So cute! And I like that song too. Never heard it before… Also is that your house at the end with the lights on the railing? Such a cute idea!

    1. Yay, thanks! Yep, that’s our little garage apartment. I love twinkle lights, so they’re wrapped all around our little patio. 🙂

  2. Loved the video! Very Indy-film like.

  3. I can’t tell you how happy I am to see and hear you guys! The new camera is faboo (as my aunt would say). I’ve been wanting to get a Flip to integrate video on the blog, but have been terrified… this might be the push I need!

    1. Yep, I’ve been wanting to video blog for years, and we have two other video-capable cameras, but with this one I decided that it’s lo-fi quality meant that I could be brave and be okay with a video that’s not perfect. And now I’m hooked! I see many more video posts in the future… 🙂

  5. Oh my gosh your new camera is so cool! I love those kinds of novelty cameras (my sister had a Holga :D) the blurriness is so awesome. 😀

I looooove the effect that it has in the video. It’s amazing!

    1. Thanks! I have a Holga, too… I love the imperfections in film/Holga/Zumi photos. It makes me a bit braver, I think. 🙂
