We went to the theater to see The Girl Who Played with Fire. These films have been such great adaptations of the books… and the casting is so perfect! The faces I see on screen are so perfectly Lisbeth Salander, Mikael Blomkvist, Jan Bublanski. I hear they’re going to make an American film adaptation of the books, which makes me sad… the Swedish versions are already so perfect! Also, I think I need to learn Swedish. Right after I learn French. And Italian.
I just realized that it’s August 3 and I haven’t posted new tunes for the month on 8Tracks. Oh well, maybe September. Or October. Or November. 🙂
A few ph0tos from a dinner a while back at El Naranjo, a Oaxacan food cart on Rainey Street:
Molotes stuffed with chorizo…
Empanadas…
Cochinita pibil tacos…
Chicken tinga tacos…

I love that last photo! The focus is so perfect. What does chochinita pibil tacos mean? They look yummy 😉

Thanks! Cochinita pibil is slow-roasted pork that’s usually marinated in orange or other citrus and annatto seed, which makes it an orange/reddish color. It’s often served with pickled onions, and it’s usually really good.
That avocado looks good.
I do love a good avocado…
