Wednesday List

I’m down to the wire on the book-writing. The manuscript is due in 16 days (breathe, breathe, breathe). I haven’t been sleeping well (or at all). I’m ready for it to be over, but in order for it to be over, I have to write, but in order to write, I have to feel creative and since I’m ready for it to be over I don’t feel creative. Vicious circle.

A little late on the Self-Portrait Tuesday – this is from Photo Booth, and my eyes look pretty freaky:

So! A Wednesday list.

Halloween costumes I’ve worn in my life (that I remember):

  • Raggedy Ann
  • Hobo
  • Witch
  • Clock
  • Pumpkin
  • Gypsy
  • Old lady
  • Alien-chest-bursting-out-thingy
  • Bee
  • Steampunk scarecrow

I seriously need to get on the ball with this year’s costume. Soon!

  1. I love that effect in Photobooth but it makes the area around my nose super dark. Great, just another reason to remind me about my huge pores and uneven skin tone…

    1. Oh, I bet you look lovely in any photo. 🙂

  2. that is a really beautiful picture! i love it!!!
as for the book, i know how it’s hard to HAVE to write, but try thinking a little bit ahead… you’ll be published!
in my little world, that’s one of the greatest achievements one can hope to attain 😉
have a good friday crystal xx

    1. Thanks! I like how my pupils look square. And thanks for the words of encouragement, they are much appreciated!

  3. I’ve been so many of those too! I like the idea of “steampunk scarecrow”. Do you have any pictures of that?

Darius’s sister throws themed parties every year and this year’s is rapper themed. I think we’re just going to go as generic 90’s kid rappers, which means we get to wear backwards caps and crazy baggy neon clothes. Last year was superhero themed and we went as retired superheros…so basically we dressed as old people and made some capes.

    1. I do have photos! Last year a group of us went as Steampunk Oz:

You could shave one side of your head and be that girl from Salt n’ Peppa? 🙂

  4. You can do it, Crystal! Make sure to take a little time each day to yourself so you don’t stress out too much. Do some yoga and concentrate on your breathing, or just sit and look out a window in solitude. It will help you center your thoughts and keep you sane. Can’t wait to read the finished product. Good luck!!!!

    1. Thanks, Cheri! I think I’m going to need a yoga retreat after all this is over… 🙂

  5. a little over two weeks. . . you can do it! it is so exciting. i’m sending you reative vibes from scorching cali. i like the photo – freaky eyes + all! : ) keep it up! it encourages me, too!

    1. Thank you! I so appreciate the encouragement.

  6. oh! It will be ok soon Crystal! I know you’ll just do a bang-up job. And steampunk scarecrow? very creative.
