I’m not so good at resolutions. Or… I’m great at making them, but not so great at keeping them. Still, I love how hopeful it feels to make these year-long goals. I usually forget to make them reasonable (I will read 52 books! I will exercise every day! I will never eat at a restaurant again!), so this year I’m trying to make them more reachable.
And so, my goals for 2011 are:
- Lose 10 pounds
- Pay off at least half our debt
- Travel every two months or so (even if just for a weekend)
- Go to the movies at least once a month
- Cook at home most of the time (and cut down restaurant eating to once or twice a week)
- Exercise three times a week
- Take lots of photos
- Complete Rosetta Stone French course
- Stay connected to friends and family
- Read 20 books
- Grow out my hair (no haircuts except to clean up frazzled ends!)
Maybe I should check in on these goals every month or so, and see how I’m doing. Anyone else making goals for the new year?

I can’t wait for your post about your dad’s asado:) I grew
up in west texas and so I remember my grandma made it for special
occasions or celebrations and she passed the recipe onto my
husband. Umm, one of my goals is to do yoga on a regular basis.
Happy New Year!
Oh, yay! So many people around here have never had asado. We’ll try to get that video edited soon. I’d also like to do a bit of yoga every week this year.
definitely, and many of them!
i’m very excited about: finishing my trading course and becoming once and for all boss-and-routine-free; ignoring my lazy side and stop postponing; exercising every day (and cut down sugar – again); moving to a bigger house or apartment, preferably with a garden or terrace; learn french, once and for all; ordering half of my amazon wish list and reading at least a book a month; planning a baby for the end of the year or the beginning of the next.
happy new year crystal! xx
ps: loved all your last posts!
Oh, we’ll have to have some French chats later this year, then! And babies! Eep! 🙂
Thanks so much, and Happy New Year to you and Bruno!
