No, really, we went to a restaurant called Ho Ho Chinese BBQ. My friend Jen recommended it, and we finally made it up there this weekend.
It was great… the roasted meats were on display up front, along with cases of live crabs, lobsters and shrimp. The menu was in English and Mandarin, and it was HUGE.
We chose a combination of roast chicken and roast pork, which was served with a huge pot of perfectly steamed white rice. The chicken had such a great flavor, the skin was crispy, the meat fatty and juicy. The pork was sweet and tender.
We also tried the pork and chicken noodle soup. The thin wheat noodles tasted so very wheaty, and were perfectly al dente. The broth was amazing, with a rich pork flavor and fresh cilantro.
I wish it wasn’t so far north, but even so, we’ll definitely go back soon.
