Right now I have a whiskey-soaked dark chocolate bundt cake in the oven. It smells like heaven. Justin will be sad to learn that we are not cutting into it until tomorrow night, when the flavors have melded, and we have delivered it to Chad and Lindsay’s for dessert hour. I can’t wait.

The other fabulous thing about this is that I’m baking! It’s actually cool enough outside to bake without risking heat stroke.

I have found a new obsession: River Cottage. I found it through Keri’s blog, and was able to purchase the first season through Amazon. This is officially my favorite show ever. Hugh is hilarious and real, his neighbors are wonderful, his little cottage is lovely, and watching him find things to fill his larder (fishing, hunting, picking) is too much fun. I’m ready for season two!

I’ve been slowly reorganizing the categories on poco-cocoa, trying to whittle them down to a manageable ten or so. I’d rather use tags to divide them up in to even smaller groups, and have larger categories. But after working for hours on it, I still have 5 1/2 years worth of blog to go through, so I’m losing steam. Does anyone really use categories and tags anyway? 🙂

The film festival starts on Thursday! I can’t wait. This year instead of watching a bajillion trailers ahead of time to choose my movies, I think I will just check the schedule each day and go wherever sounds best. Of course I already have too many movies marked for Day 1, so maybe that method won’t work any better after all.

Last Friday, Justin and I went to the Volstead to attend the launch of Casa Brasil’s bike delivery program. It turned out to be so much fun – there were tons of bikers (commuters, racers, etc.) there, and at the end of the night, the Del Vipers played their fabulous surfer rock and I danced the night away.

  1. Crystal,
That cake you baked sounds devine! Let me know how it turns out, I am sure the flavors will be intense when you do cut into it. Have a great fall-ish week with lower temps, yay:)

    1. The cake is INSANELY GOOD! I highly recommend you bake it, pronto. 🙂

  2. I also had to wait overnight to cut into my banana cheesecake earlier this week. Worth the wait, though, right? 😉

    1. Definitely! And your cheesecake is so gorgeous.

  3. Bet the bundt tasted great too.

The Brides Book of Ideas still thrives in society, internalized, taboo to see in action but it’s alive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5pM1fW6hNs& re: see Miss Represented.

    1. I do want to see the full film – I’ve watched this bit, and am really interested in seeing more. And yes, the bundt tasted wonderful! I think it’s my new fall/winter cake.
