letters #7

Dear Husband,

Today you told me that you were proud of me, that you were upset at others for taking me for granted, that you were so happy I was home with you, and that dinner was good even though I knew it needed more salt. Thank you for always being so nice to me.

Dear Roux,

Lately you’ve been glued to my side, curling up in your basket next to my desk, following me from room to room, even sitting on my lap (which we all know is unheard of). I hope you don’t mind that we’ve started calling you Glue Stick, and sometimes even Roux Stick. It’s still quite cute.

Dear Roll of Film,

I am so sad that I left you at my friend’s house last weekend. I’ve been wanting to go pick you up all week, so I can have you developed and finally see your contents. I think tomorrow I will make that happen. Soon, my love, soon!

Dear Monday,

You are infinitely easier to face knowing that I don’t have to sit in a cubicle all day. It makes Sundays more lovely, weekends more relaxed, and mornings more hopeful. You and I might just get along after all.

Dear New Budget,

I have been stressing about you, and how you will require cutting down restaurant visits and clothes shopping, but I think instead I’ll see you as an opportunity to enjoy cooking at home and thrifting for clothes again. I do really want to buy these, and also these, and I could really use some shorts for the summer, so maybe you and I can work something out.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

  1. Ok… so I want to know what happened with the job. I feel like you mentioned something a week ago also.

And Daniel told me he liked my shrimp cobb-ish salad I made tonight for dinner even though it was totally bland. The honey mustard vinaigrette was good though! 🙂

I reviewed your book on Amazon…. I hope you were okay with it! I said everything I loved and one tiny thing I might change (just to not be TOO overly lovey). I would have given it 4.5 stars if it was an option.

    1. Liz, thank you so much! I appreciate your review. 🙂

Yep, I left my full-time job to do some freelance writing and copyediting, and to help Justin with all his design stuff. It’s very scary, but I’m excited!

  2. Very cool! Congratulations!!
