Wednesday

Breakfast: tall soy mocha. Starbucks has green cup holders now. It matched my office supplies.

Leftover pizza from Little Deli. I’m 92 pages into Neverwhere, and I still don’t love it. I’m not sure I’ll keep reading it. However, I did love this sentence: There was no moon, but the night sky was a riot of crisp and glittering autumn stars. Lovely.

Justin in the corner!

Dinner: appetizer plate at Chuy’s. We decided to eat here tonight, since it will be impossible to get a table here once SXSW starts on Friday.

Dessert: mini Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Thank you all so much for your very sweet comments about poco-cocoa’s 6th anniversary! I am so happy that I’ve been able to have this little space for my thoughts and photos for so long, and I’m so glad that you all are here to share it with me. 🙂

Tonight I’ve been watching trailers for the films that will be screened at the SXSW festival. There are so many! I’ve only made it through the first two days of the schedule, and I’m already overwhelmed. At any rate, starting Friday, Justin and I will be at the movies during every possible hour of the non-work day, through March 20. I’ll keep you updated on what we see.

In other news, I watched the first two episodes of True Blood. I can’t decide what I think about it – it’s fun to see the book come to life on screen, and I actually really like Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, but I’m just not sure yet. I agree with Ai, I do like the way those southern men and vampires say “Sookeh.” For those of you who have seen more episodes, does Tara’s horrible southern accent get any better? Please say yes.

  1. First two episodes of the first season you mean? It’s quite silly all around and gets sillier and sillier, but I gotta admit I get a good laugh…or maybe it’s just that I can’t get enough of that tall handsome Swede, ha. Anyway, have fun at the SXSW for me!

    1. Yes, first season. Hope you’re doing well…

  2. Have fun at SXSW! I’ve been hearing so much about it lately, even at my favourite metal webzine… hehe.

    1. Thanks! That’s all everyone’s talking about here, too. 🙂

  3. It took me until season 2 of True Blood to really get into it and now I love it. I’ve also read all of the sookie stackhouse books. They don’t stick straight to the books, it’s more like they are inspiration for the tv series.
Yay for SXSW! I’ve done the movie pass before, but don’t have the time this year. Hopefully I can hit up some free music shows towards the end of the week. Just one of many perks of living in Austin.

    1. I’ve only read the first book, but I think the show is a nice adaptation of it. I just hope to start liking Tara eventually… :/

It looks like next year we should get a film badge – there are so many badges that it’s hard to get into the films with just a pass. It’s just getting bigger and bigger! We’re planning on some free music shows, too. 🙂

  4. I haven’t watched the first season. May have to do that. Have loads of fun! Love you!

    1. I like watching things from the beginning, but you know how much of an organization freak I am… 🙂
