Wednesday

Breakfast: chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese (I only ate half – I prefer plain bagels, but the store was out of them), and a tiny Juicy Juice. They’re much sweeter than I remember – another thing I suppose I’ve grown out of. :/

Lunchy snack: some crackers with tuna salad. Roux wanted some.

Dinner: leftover potato-leek soup and buttered toast.

Dessert: olive oil torta and hot chai. I love these tortas – this brand in particular. They’re perfectly crispy and slightly sweet, with sesame and anise and olive oil.

Headphones – It’s another headphone night, because the garage band is practicing AGAIN. They usually stop by 10pm, but we feel like we’re being chased from the comfort of our own home with their noise. They just started practicing “Harvest Moon,” which is a song I used to like until now.

Mind power – I’m still in the beginning stages of a cold, I think. Achy with a sore throat, but so far no coughing or sniffling, which is good. Justin believes that I can just will myself not to get sick. He thinks if I just refuse to get sick, I won’t. I think I must be weak-willed.

Goodbyes – So for the past month or two, I’ve been working with a really great guy (J.) and his department. Today was his last day at work, since he’s leaving to work for another university. I felt like my heart was breaking all over again – first Nick, and now J. I made my supervisor, S., promise never to leave. Ever.

Dresses – I’ve decided that I need to go to a few vintage and thrift stores and look for dresses. On days when I just can’t fight my closet, I can always throw on a vintage dress and some heels and feel put together. Oh, and I also need new shoes. I do love shoes.

  1. Oh No! I am getting over being sick too. That came after an incredibly stressful week. I know you mentioned you had been stressed last week, so take care of yourself! I never get sick so I know my body had just finally had enough!

    1. Yep, it definitely has to do with stress. I hope you’re feeling better!

  2. Ooh Juicy Juice! I used to love that too! I was never able to drink without cutting it first with some water, otherwise it’s waaay too sweet. Rest, relax and be well.

    1. Right? I think it will mix well with some fizzy water…
