Wednesday

Breakfast: hot cocoa made with soy milk.

Lunch: my coworker D. brought in tamales that his mom made. They were deeeelicious.

Snack: my coworker C. shared her Girl Scout cookies with us. I love these ones; I don’t know what they’re called. I also had some hot tea and a few Triscuits.

Dinner at Corazon: crab cake with salad.

NY Strip steak with potatoes and asparagus and a compound butter of some sort.

Chocolate mousse.

Me: What should we make for dinner? We could roast butternut squash and beets. We could make a salad with fennel. We could have spinach quesadillas.

Justin: Okay.

Me: Or we could eat out. My coworker C. gave me a coupon for Corazon.

Justin: Yes!!

We’re bad for each other – we both love eating at restaurants. Also, my coworkers are really, really great, if you haven’t noticed already.

  1. Yep! Used to be called Samoas… now called something more “politically correct” apparently. I can’t remember what and am too lazy to go to the link. But I do still love reading about all your food. Please keep it up!! 🙂

  2. They are Samoas or Caramel Delights, depends on who manufactured them. Girl Scouts uses two different companies to make their cookies and one of them calls them by one name and on by the other. Also, that is not a crab cake, that looks like a fried chicken patty! I know because I’m from Maryland and crab cakes are kind of our thing 🙂

  3. Yes, that makes sense. I remember there was a big thing about changing the name to something, but didn’t remember what the new name was. Caramel Delights! I like them.

Cheri, I agree – this was more of a fried patty of crabness. 🙂

  4. Yep- Samoas rock! We’ve already polished off three boxes of the Girl Scout variety. This past weekend I got the bright idea to try to re-create them at home. I got close but they’re not quite as sweet as the original. Guess I’ll just have to keep making (and eating) them until I’ve perfected the recipe 🙂

    1. Yes! I’ve been wanting to make these forever… I need to just do it soon.
