Date Night… for me.

March 16, 2010

So I read this post, and decided it was high time I spent some quality time with myself. So I walked over to Jeffrey’s after work and sat alone at the bar for happy hour.

I had pork belly steam buns and pommes frites. It cost all of $6.50, thanks to insanely low happy hour prices. Holy moly, that’s cheap! I paid more for my dessert than I did for my meal!

Dessert, by the way, was chocolate intemperance with coffee and a bit of Baileys.

Mara, the bartender, said she went a little overboard on the whipped cream. I say, there’s no such thing as too much whipped cream. :)

I meant to go to a movie afterward, but I had so much fun lingering over my dinner that I missed it. Ah well, it was still a lovely date.

Ohhhhhhhh everything looks incredible! Those FRIES! I need to get me to Jeffrey’s asap. Btw, spending time w/ myself is the best thing ever. I spent a good part of last year working on “being obsessed with me” and it was fantastic. :)

love the bag of fries. And as a ‘go it alone’ type of person, I think this is a great idea. Taking time to spend with yourself to think and be quiet is great. Plus sometimes you have experiences and talk to people who you’d otherwise not meet if you were with a person or a group. keep it up!

What the?! I had no idea Jeffrey’s Happy Hour was so cheap. I think I’ll have to take Darius there soon because he’s never eaten there.

What movie were you going to see? Something here for SXSW?

Carolyn and Connie, you’re right… I’m looking forward to more me-dates!

Nicole, I was going to see a SXSW film called “Les Signes Vitaux”… hopefully I can catch it later in the week.
