For girls only

Here’s another crafty thing I did a while back. I decided that I needed a little pouch for carrying tampons in my purse. I tend to just drop them in, which can result in an unpleasant surprise later when I’m paying my bill or grabbing my keys. Pulling this out of my purse is much more fun, and I don’t mind if everyone sees it!

Next time I’ll make the flap a bit longer, as the ribbon just barely catches it closed. (This is the ribbon I received with my package from Kickpleat!)

Hey, if I have to deal with the utter misery of my period, I at least want it to have some cuteness.

In other news, my Saturday at Moxie/Plume was wonderful. It’s such a fun shop, with so many different designers. It’s hard not to just wander around the store, touching fabrics or examining jewelry. I tried on a wonderful dress that just arrived at Plume, but it was a bit to big for me…which is unfortunate, because it really is an amazing dress. Anyway, I organized Moxie’s email situation, and I’ve started organizing the back room. It was fun to watch all the customers streaming in, going ga-ga over the handmade items. I felt so proud to be a part of it all…this is hand-made. This is creativity. This is real.

Last night we joined Chad, Lindsay, Rob, and Shara for an Oscar party. Lindsay went all out (as usual), decorating the place with streamers and red carpet, and handing us each a feathery tiara (for the girls) and sequined bow-ties (for the guys) as we walked in. We snacked on cilantro hummus, farmer’s cheese, three seed bread, mini spanikopitas, artichoke-goat cheese dip, cinnamon toasted pecans, olives, and cranberry-walnut goat cheese rounds. It was so much fun!

It’s lunchtime here, then I’m off for another afternoon at Moxie/Plume. Happy Monday!

  2. Congrats on the new job. What a fun and cute pouch! Love your blog and your cooking and crafting ability. This year I present myself with the challenge to log less time at this laptop to familiarize myself with other things outside of my comfort zone. Needle, thread, sewing machine… your blog (and others on your links list) contiue to provide inspiration and enjoyment. THANKS!

  6. I love your bag, though I dont know if I would love to pull out a brightly colored bag with the word tampons stamped across the front much either. But your bag is still very pretty. I love the flowers on the inside.
