4th of July Weekend video

Hola internets! Here’s a 5-minute video mashup of our weekend, if you’re at all interested (and I completely understand if you’re not). So I’m slowly learning how to use iMovie… next I have to figure out how to SPEAK LOUDLY so the microphone picks up what I’m saying. I’ve increased the microphone volume as high as it will go, but it’s still hard to hear some of it. Maybe next time. Also, can I just say that it is SO HARD for me to post this, with myself actually talking in the video? I much prefer being behind the camera! A new camera! And my first movie!

So we bought a new camera. No, it’s not the Fuji Instax (though that’s probably next)… it’s this super-cute, teensy tiny digital Harinezumi 2. (Did I mention how much I love Photojojo?) It shoots lovely vintagey, grainy video and lo-fi stills in color or black and white. You can shoot in the macro mode, and it makes everything all blurry-delicious. Pinterest!

So I’ve started yet another project… I’ve been collecting images forever, and I sometimes share them on my twinkle lights blog, but mostly they just go into my Evernote. Now I’m saving them to Pinterest, which is a super-cool site that allows you to pin images from all over the web, categorize them, tag them, and share them. You can comment on other people’s pins, or repin their images. It’s like tumblr, but much prettier/easier/better. My favorite of my boards so far is my Life to-do list. I’ve created little reminders of things I want to do in life. Things like creating handwritten cookbook of my favorite recipes, or drinking Turkish coffee in Turkey, or always keeping my head up. Hi! Today I give you a list of things I wanna buy. I am still (grudgingly) keeping my promise that I WILL NOT buy a Fuji Instax (from Photojojo, of course) until I use up four packages of Polaroid film. I have not used up four packages. But I REALLY want the Instax! So, I’m carrying my Polaroid around from now on. I’ve already bought a few of Abby’s prints, but this one is still on my to-buy list. I also want the new Lines & Shapes book Sundays are for Lovers. I want these, even though they’re not available in my size anymore. I want one of these stamps for my snail mail.
