Hey guys! This weekend my mom and my sister drove over from West Texas to check out some hill country stuff. Justin drove me down to San Marcos on Friday night, and the three of us gals went to Wimberley and Fredericksburg on Saturday. Then Justin drove to Fredericksburg on Sunday morning to pick me up (he really is a sweetheart).
We went to Wimberley Market Days, shopped downtown Fredericksburg, and ate a LOT. We got the girly giggles, we talked, and we stayed up too late playing games. We had lots of fun.
I made a little video of our weekend. Now that I’ve made a few videos, here’s what I think:
- I need to walk and move more slowly when I’m filming.
- My little Zumi camera really only picks up my voice when I’m filming, and not much of what’s in front of the camera.
- I’m thinking of using my DSLR for filming… while I love the vintage look of these videos, I want try it out with a clear image, too.
- I love videos!

Got this idea from Abby. Happy Friday, y’all.
Lately, I’ve been:
Smelling – nail polish, as I paint my toenails purple
Seeing – Mad Men. I’ve never watched it before, and I’m on Season 1, Episode 4. Don’t tell me what happens.
Tasting – the most fabulous fried chicken at Max’s Wine Dive
Hearing – football on the television
Feeling – my cat Roux stepping on my hair in the morning in a horrible and effective attempt to wake me up so I will feed him
Have a great weekend!
Today I am thankful for:
- A husband who listens, and holds me and tells me everything will be okay, and then takes me to get oysters and champagne.
- A mama and sister who are traveling all the way to Austin for a girls’ weekend in the Hill Country.
- A supervisor who is so understanding, so supportive, and so freakin’ nice.
- The song, “One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer,” performed by Amos Milburn.
- Weezer.
- Two silly cats who chase each other and generally make me laugh.
- Dancing.
- Football on TV. I don’t watch it, but I like to hear it in the background when Justin watches it.
- My parents.
- The internets.
- Rum.

So usually I try to create a full 8Tracks playlist on the first day of each month, for that month. But now I plan to make the lists retroactively… each Monday, I’ll share a song or two that I’m feelin’ at the moment. Then at the end of the month, I’ll toss them all into an 8Tracks list, and it will represent what the month felt like. Does that make sense? I’m just going to fudge it and say that today’s music goes in the September pile, since I’ve missed most of August.
Of course, you all know me, so if I change my mind and completely ditch this idea next week, you won’t be surprised, right?

I’m dreaming of travel right now, so this song seems appropriate: Angus and Julia Stone – Big Jet Plane

I’m also feelin’ funky. So, a little Wyclef Jean – We Trying to Stay Alive.
