The end of summer

This photo makes me think of summers when I was little, when we would visit my grandma and find cicada shells in the trees. We ate the sweetest watermelon and spit the seeds over the fence, and one year, our very own melon grew in that spot. My dad would mow the lawn and there would be piles of green grass that I would dig in to make tunnels for my hot wheels. We rode our bikes around the block and jumped three-foot dirt ramps and felt like daredevils. We drank iced sweet tea and ran through the sprinkler and somehow life was so very… very.
