What I Wore: Wednesday

  • Shirt: Gap
  • Skirt: thrifted
  • Belt: Banana Republic
  • Purse: Nine West (Ross)
  • Shoes: Bandolino (DSW)
  • Necklace: Nordstrom

I’m considering doing a 30-day What I Wore challenge. It will really be a challenge, though, because it means I have to corral Justin into taking my photo at some point during the day (he’s not up when I leave for work in the morning, and I’ve usually changed out of work clothes by the time he’s home at night). Or, I can just learn how to use the timer on my camera. We’ll see… I’m not sure if it would be very interesting. Plus I’m not very comfortable in front of the camera.

Last night we watched Bill Cunningham New York – it was fantastic. I already loved Bill Cunningham, but now I love him even more. And I have a better appreciation for street style photography and fashion in general. Little known (well known?) secret – I loooooove fashion. I truly appreciate it – I’m just not good at practicing it. It’s too easy to wear pajamas all weekend. Also, I’m not big on wearing jewelry – so my outfits tend to be pretty plain. 🙂

  1. I love the yellow belt, that buttercup yellow is my favorite color! Yeah, if I tried a challenge it would be pretty boring as on the weekends I have been known to wear the same outfit both days, eek. But I love the challenges you give yourself, you do them with gusto:)

    1. Oh, I like it even more now that I think of it as “buttercup” yellow. 🙂

  2. I think you look so cute and colorful! I would love the 30-day challenge, even if you’re in PJ’s! If I did it, I’d be wearing yoga capris and a tank top every weekend and a tank top/cardigan/jeans in every weekday pic. Pretty boring.

I’m always “afraid” of wearing anything stylish or trendy because I work with a bunch of 60-year-old women and I’m afraid they would think I’m weird or something. I know I shouldn’t care, but I feel like I’d be embarassed all day or something.

And like you, I don’t care to wear jewelry either. I don’t even wear a wedding ring and everyone thinks I’m a freak for that.

    1. Thanks! I know what you mean – I feel scared to go out on a limb just hanging out in Austin, but I’m trying to just get over it and wear what I like. We don’t wear wedding bands, either! Though we are considering similar tattoos instead.

      1. Seriously, the similarities between us freak me out sometimes! You’re one of the few couples I know that also doesn’t wear wedding bands.

I’ve tried to convince Darius to go for similar tattoos too, but he hasn’t settled on it yet. All I have now is a teensy tiny green star on my foot, but I would like to get more. I love the colorful sleeves that some girls have nowadays, but I don’t think I could ever pull that off.

      2. Yes, I would love a dark, full sleeve, but I’m scared, too. I don’t have any yet, so I’ll have to start small, I think.

  3. oh my, you have such great style. and, i never would have thought to mix black + gold + violet — they look beautiful together.

    1. Thank you! I dunno how I decided those colors went together, but I just went with it. 🙂
