Tuesday

Lunch: cheese toast.

Dessert: chocolate chunk cookie.

Dinner: fideo with mushrooms and cheese. I also had a toasted tortilla.

I woke up with a stomachache this morning that never really went away. By mid-afternoon I felt so exhausted and funky that I came home. I’ve feel like I’ve been sickly lately – I have to get healthier! I can’t quite place what’s wrong, I just end up feeling rundown, achy, headachy, stomachachy. My friend S. would say that I need more fruits and vegetables. Justin would say I’m overstressed. They’re probably both right.

Speaking of veggies and fruits, our Farmhouse bin came today. It’s slim pickin’s, since lots of stuff froze on the farms last week. We got: spinach, butter lettuce, beets, fennel, mushrooms, cabbage, avocados, grapefruit, butternut squash.

We’re expecting another cold front tomorrow – it’s very weird that it’s going to get colder as the day goes by, instead of warmer. Everyone’s hoping for another ice day (it’s supposed to rain all night/morning, then possibly freeze during the day), but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I just watched a heckuva lot of movie trailers on apple.com, and added lots more to my list of films I want to see. It seems like there are lots of action movies coming out soon – and several of them to do with aliens.

In other randomness, I like these things:

This pretty cream puff display on Hilda’s blog.

This super-cute cafe on Hello Sandwich.

The cheese plate (with a huge wedge of cheese and a halved pear) at Anchor & Hope, on Brian’s blog.

Oh Joy’s green and pink (must get to Zara soon).

These haunting self-portraits by Ari Gabel.

Artisanal candy bars from Liddabit Sweets.

Adios!

  1. I like to eat my fideo with cheese too…my husband thinks its weird!

    1. I had never eaten it with cheese until Justin’s parents served it that way once. My mom always made it just with tomatoes – and sometimes with Spam. I loved the Spam. 🙂

  2. the cheese toast looks so simple and delicious!

    1. It is! I just popped the bread in the toaster, then topped it with cheese, then popped it under the broiler for a bit. When I was in high school, my friend made this for me for lunch one day, and I thought it was genius. 🙂

  3. I like the photo. (cheese toast)
