L’Auberge Espagnole

Picture 1

Just watched this… loved it! It’s really, really funny, and it has totally re-inspired me to learn French. And brush up on my Spanish. And pick up whatever other languages I can.

It’s amazing to me that these Europeans speak English, and French, and Spanish, and German… and here I am with my English and mediocre Spanish. Who wants to split the cost of Rosetta Stone with me? Or, better yet, who wants to pay my way to Europe for a few years? :)

  1. Total agreement! We have the Italian Rosetta Stone somewhere around here, which I’ve been wanting to pick back up…. it makes me feel culturally illiterate to only speak one language!

I remember being in a hotel in Luxembourg and hearing the front desk guy switch flawlessly from English to Spanish to French to German to Luxembourgish – he has us in awe. I talked to him and he told me he was fluent in 8 languages. Someday?

oh! that movie popped up in my netflix. glad to hear you enjoyed it. i would love to learn all those languages. sadly, the more realistic option is just eating all their food ;)
