What I ate today – Wednesday 10/29

Just FYI, I’m playing with new formats and ideas for my little blog. For the next few days, I feel like listing everything I eat. Maybe it will get me to eat better. 🙂

8:30 a.m. – Swiss Miss Mocha Cappuccino (trying to warm up after a cold ride on my scooter to work)

12:30 p.m. – Lean Cuisine lasagna and chicken parmesan (Yuck. No more frozen dinners for me.) Also, Yoplait strawberry cheesecake flavor yogurt. (Eh. Yogurt’s just not my favorite thing. Unless it’s mixed with chopped honeycrisp apples and homemade chocolate granola. Which I didn’t have. But I did read this article on yogurt today, and may give Fage 0% a try.)

2:30 p.m. – A piece of Dove milk chocolate from my co-worker’s desk.

3:30 p.m. – A package of peanut butter crackers.

3:40 p.m. – A chocolate chip cookie that was offered to me from a co-worker who had some leftover from her meeting.

4:00 p.m. – A piece of Orbitz Mint Mojito gum. (My favorite flavor.)

5:30 p.m. – Chips (El Milagro) and salsa (Leal’s).

6:00 p.m. – Chips and guacamole (homemade).

7:00 p.m. – Southwestern Black Bean Soup (homemade) and quesadillas (homemade) with salsa and guacamole. A couple of sips of white wine (lost interest after that and switched to water).

8:30 p.m. – A snickerdoodle that my friend Laura brought over from Whole Foods. (Yum.)

Throughout the day: Iced water.

I don’t think I ate enough today! I seriously need to get up earlier and have a good breakfast…I dream of having soft boiled eggs with toast, oatmeal with nuts and fruit, or over-easy eggs with tortillas. Usually, I have cereal. If I wake up in time.

Goal for tomorrow: Eat breakfast! (In which case I should really go to bed now, so I can be rested enough to wake up early enough to eat breakfast, but instead I’m going to work on fixing my recipe index.)

🙂

  1. Good for you! I’ve found that keeping a food journal is a pretty eye opening experience. Before I kept my first food journal I thought that almost my entire diet was comprised of veggies. But after a few days I realized that I only ate a serving or two a day!

Hope you had a great breakfast this morning:)

  2. I am surprised to see that–as a food blogger–you eat all processed food. What’s up with that?

  3. Fage yogurt is delicious, especially with walnuts and a little honey drizzled on top. You should definitely try it. 🙂

I also like non-fat Brown Cow vanilla yogurt mixed with fruit (preferably berries, yum!) for breakfast.

  4. i have always wanted, really REALLY wanted to like yogurt, but i never did… until the FAGE (ONLY)–

there is hope! apparently the greek style is not like the american yogurt, and is more sour cream like, if anything. so now, instead of just using yogurt in place of sour cream, i will finally eat in with healthy things, or best yet: try it with some brown sugar on top and let it set for a while–the consistency changes and is super yummy, better than honey!!!

and glad to see you eat almost as often as i do–a small cup of soy or regular of milk just before bed helps me get up better and get on track with food when i wake up the next day, and all day–try it!

  5. Rachel – I agree! I’ve done food journals off and on for years, and when I do, it always brings me back to healthier foods.
Heather – Yesterday was DEFINITELY a processed-food day! It’s called “I seriously need groceries but instead I’m going to raid my co-worker’s snacks and such.” 🙂 I’ve never really had frozen dinners, and after yesterday’s lunch, I can see why. Yuck! Anyway, here’s to a better day tomorrow…
Ariana and Weezy – now I’m super-excited to try Fage!!
