Weekend nothingness

Last night we had dinner at Rob and Shara’s lovely house. Shara made split pea soup, and I brought a loaf of pumpernickel bread from Central Market. The soup was so delicious and comforting, perfect for a chilly evening.

We spent the evening playing with Rob’s new Nintendo Wii…we bowled and the guys played tennis. Those teeny tiny motion-sensitive controllers are like something out of the future…it’s crazy to me that in so many ways, the “future” as I always thought of it is already here. We drive a hybrid car, we can manipulate live television, and here I am, typing this post to people all around the world. It’s strange.

Anyway, I made chocolate coconut pecan pie for dessert, which we ate between bowling frames. I can’t recommend this pie enough…it’s entirely too easy to make, and it tastes wonderful!

Today has been a lazy day, with college basketball on the television and a kitty-cat curled up next to us. I hope your weekend is relaxing as well!
